Dear Friends,
This coming Tuesday, many of you will go to the polls and cast your ballot for the next At-Large Council Member of the District of Columbia. This is an important election, loaded with crucial issues that impact the future of our City.
Many of you have asked who I am supporting and I would like to officially endorse Elissa Silverman. My belief has always been that D.C. government should work-- to improve the lives of residents, to support local businesses, and to be a model of excellence for cities nationwide. After all, we are the Nation’s Capital.
Elissa’s campaign is focused on integrity, accountability, and smart-strategy driven investment in Washington, D.C. As a former reporter for both The Washington Post and The Washington City Paper, Elissa has a track record of asking tough questions and holding people accountable. This is what we need, I am convinced that she embodies it.
This At-Large City Council race presents a unique opportunity for District residents, new and old, to make a statement about their vision to move D.C. forward. Over the past months since the race began, candidates have had the opportunity to share their records of service, strengths, and capabilities to get this job done. Many of them can agree on the “soft issues” such as education reform, workforce development, and affordable housing; but it will take a person who embodies courage, integrity, and transparency to make the tough decisions and make our government stronger and more effective. Elissa Silverman is the only candidate that will get it done.
Elissa’s dedication to an ethical and responsible government and support of the community in both her work and personal life, provides the foundation we need for oversight of our current Council.
I invite you to visit Elissa’s website at www.elissa2013.com to learn more about her vision for a better tomorrow.
Please join me at the polls on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, to vote for a better future for Washington, D.C.
Si se puede!
Regards,
Joshua Lopez

I will be working for her on election day. We need more people on the council who have the same dedication to public service as Elissa.
